Dry, sunny and warm end of the week/beginning of the weekend

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – The streak of dry days without measurable rainfall at Montgomery Regional Airport has now lasted up to three weeks and counting. The mostly dry weather will continue for the foreseeable future as a persistent ridge of high pressure hovers over the Southeast, keeping us dry for a few more days.

Today was a near carbon copy of what we saw on Thursday. Sun and a few clouds during the day…highs in the upper 80s with a light breeze. Lows will drop back into the 50s later tonight into Saturday morning with calm winds and mostly clear skies.

We hit a new record high temperature today at Montgomery Regional Airport! Another round of near-record-breaking heat is possible tomorrow.

It is expected to remain dry this weekend, even as a weak front moves through the region. While the area won’t receive much-needed rain, as a few sprinkles are possible, temperatures will cool slightly by Sunday into early next week.

Expect highs in the mid to upper 80s with sunny conditions on Saturday, giving way to upper 70s and lower 80s by Sunday, which is more typical for this time of year.

Early next week it will also remain cooler, back near seasonal averages. With highs Monday and Tuesday in the upper 70s to lower 80s under mostly sunny skies. During this period, overnight lows will remain in the 50s. Temperatures will slowly rise as we get closer to Halloween.

Following the Tropics: At this time, there are no systems we are monitoring for the next seven days. Although there is a computer model signal for the possibility of development in the Caribbean Sea by November 1. We’ll be watching until the Atlantic hurricane season ends on November 30.
