Man accused of killing parents in Greene County charged with two counts of murder

GREENE COUNTY, Tenn. (WCYB) — A man accused of killing his parents was charged with two counts of first-degree murder on Friday, according to authorities.

News 5’s Liam Bridgeman visited the Greene County Sheriff’s Department to learn more about the investigation.

The Greene County Sheriff’s Department said officers responded to the home in the 500 block of Hartman Lane to find 68-year-old Cassandra Wilhoit and 60-year-old Ray “Allen” Wilhoit deceased Friday.

Their son, 35-year-old Jessie Wilhoit, was taken into custody without incident. His bond was set at $2 million

He will also appear in a Greene County courtroom on October 28 for his arraignment.

News 5’s Liam Bridgeman spoke with neighbors who said everyone involved in the case, including the Greene County Sheriff’s Office and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, left around 3:20 p.m. Friday.

A neighbor told News 5 that fights in the home were a common occurrence.
