Man with life-threatening injuries after being hit by a car in Ballpark

SALT LAKE CITY – A man remains in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a car in the Ballpark neighborhood Friday evening. The driver is on site and is cooperating with the investigation.

At 7:45 p.m., officials received reports of a crash on State Street near 1110 South. Preliminary investigation revealed that a 62-year-old woman was driving south when she struck the 22-year-old man as he was crossing the street.

He was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Southbound traffic will be detoured to Main Street at Herbert Avenue. The diversion is expected to take several hours.
