VINCENT — An incident at Warren High School this week led to a former student being charged with assault.

The incident happened Tuesday around 5:30 p.m. and involved a male youth who lives near the school and came onto the school grounds during football practice, according to Maj. Brian Rhodes of the Washington County Sheriff Office.

“He was there and started yelling at some of the coaches and disrupting practice,” said Rhodes.

He said the young man punched a coach in the face and some other coaches restrained him and then let him go after he calmed down.

“He (then) kept hitting a few coaches,” said Rhodes.

The child is not currently a student at Warren High School because, according to Rhodes, he was expelled from school due to a previous incident.

He did not provide further information about the deportation.

The incident involving the juvenile was an isolated incident, according to Rhodes.

‘There is no danger to the schools’ he said.

According to Rhodes, three assault charges against the minor have been forwarded to the Washington County Prosecutor’s Office.
