Indore News: In a tragic incident, Jawahar Singh Yadav, a head constable in Indore Police, fondly known as ‘Yamraj’ for his creative awareness campaigns, lost his life on Friday morning. His death has left the police department and local community in mourning.

Yadav was taking care of his cow when he was electrocuted, which led to his death. The accident also killed his cow.

Yadav received widespread recognition in 2020 for his unique efforts to raise awareness about Covid-19. Dressed as Yamraj, the Hindu god of death, he patrolled the streets and reminded people to stay indoors and adhere to safety protocols during the pandemic.

At a time when fear and uncertainty prevailed, Yadav’s message was clear: stay home or face the ‘wrath of Yamraj’. His campaign emphasized vaccination and safety, warning of the risks of unnecessary outings and urging everyone to get vaccinated to stop the spread of the virus.

Early on Friday, Yadav was washing his cow in a small room near his residence on the Juni Indore Police Line. According to police sources, a sudden surge of electricity spread through the enclosure, leaving Yadav lying unconscious on the floor. A passerby noticed him and immediately alerted the police. His family and colleagues rushed him to a nearby private hospital, where doctors recommended shifting him to Choithram Hospital. He was taken to that hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

A head constable in the Crime Branch, Yadav was known for his vibrant spirit and dedication to serving the community. In addition to his Covid-19 awareness campaigns, he often dressed up as Yamraj in campaigns encouraging bikers to wear helmets. His creative approach made him a popular figure in the Indore Police Department, where he was admired for his dedication to public welfare and his unique sense of humor.

An autopsy has been conducted on Yadav’s body and police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the accident.
