2027: Suspend political focus on alleviating hardship for the masses – Ajanaku to Politicians

Ibadan-based politician, Otunba Rotimi Ajanaku, has called on politicians across the country to put their political ambitions on hold now and focus on how to alleviate the suffering of the masses.

Ajanaku, while speaking to journalists in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on Friday, attributed the country’s deteriorating situation to deception, misplaced priorities and lack of confidence in leadership.

He noted that widespread hunger and scarcity of essential goods across the country is affecting millions of citizens, adding that the situation is a social problem that threatens the fabric of society.

He also expressed concern over the growing humanitarian crisis engulfing the country and urged politicians across the country to refocus on the immediate needs of the masses.

Ajanaku regretted that many politicians were busy with campaigns and media appearances in the run-up to the 2027 general elections, to the detriment of the masses who suffer daily.

Ajanaku said: “Our economic situation is dire. Millions of Nigerians are suffering terribly, including youth and children. The hardship has reached a critical point and we must act now to save lives and prevent further decline of our nation.

“While I have confidence in President Tinubu’s ability to lead Nigeria to a better future, the immediate needs of our people now require collective action. Local governments must join forces and address the suffering in their communities. This is not just the president’s responsibility, it is a shared obligation that requires compassion and urgency.

“It is shocking to see politicians rushing to campaign for 2027 while citizens go hungry every day. Why parade your generosity on social media when people are dying from a lack of basic needs? Real giving should be discreet and meaningful, for the purpose of alleviating the suffering of the community – not for publicity.

“While we rely on President Tinubu’s leadership to steer Nigeria towards a better future, we must also unite in a shared mission to liberate our people from poverty, eradicate social vices and restore peace to our beloved nation. restore. Long live Nigeria”.
