The principal of Destin High School releases a statement about the student injured in an accident

DESTIN, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – Multiple students are reportedly hospitalized after an accident in Destin Friday evening.

One of those students will be attending Destin High School on Saturday, the principal of Destin High School released the following statement:

Dear Shark Families:

I wanted to share an update with you on the car accident in Destin last night that left one of our students hospitalized. I personally visited the student and his father at the hospital last night and promised that his favorite food would be ready as soon as he was done with the surgery.

The multi-car crash also hospitalized students from the South Walton area. I was told that these students are being treated at Gulf Coast hospitals.

This news has taken a toll on our school community, especially the students and staff, as false rumors quickly circulated online. Our Shark Counseling team will be on campus on Monday to assist students or staff who may need additional support. If necessary, I personally coordinate support for the student’s family.

I ask that you keep the affected families, as well as our Sharks and the Seahawk community, in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
