Strictly Come Dancing fans were left stunned when Emmerdale star was spotted in the audience | Television and radio | Showbiz and TV

Strictly Come Dancing fans were shocked to see Emmerdale legend Lisa Riley among the crowd on Saturday night. The much-loved Mandy Dingle portrayer happily applauded, wearing a cream jumper dress next to her partner.

Fans rushed to social media to discuss the star’s unexpected visit, with one user writing: “Lisa Riley is in the #Strictly audience.”

“Yes it is; I love her,” replied another, while a third commented: “You mean Lisa Riley (blue checkmark).”

Lisa herself had taken to the dance floor of Strictly in season ten, with the late Robin Windsor as her dance partner.

During tonight’s episode, the judges and contestants outdid themselves with their Halloween-themed costumes, reports said the mirror.

Starting the night, Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell provided a dynamic Samba. While the panel gave them high marks for their routine, supporters raised concerns about Chris.

A common superstition among viewers suggests that stars who open the show are often eliminated the next day.

The comedian also alluded to this so-called curse during a conversation with Claudia Winkleman, noting, “We’ve lost four people so far on this series.

“Two of them on Sambas, and we’ve had four dance-offs and three of them are people who went through first, so the math is against us this week.”

Last weekend, Paul Merson left the competition after taking on JB Gill in a gripping dance competition.

Speaking privately with Tess Daly, Paul expressed his enthusiasm for the show: “It was really good. To anyone I talk to, I’d say you should go to this show. It’s great – everyone. There’s a Tottenham fan there named Lincoln, and he’s nice!”

He continued with praise: “It was amazing, honestly, amazing. I loved every minute, I had a great teacher. She was amazing, absolutely amazing, and I couldn’t ask for a better coach.

“I loved every minute of it. I can dance now. I won because I can dance. Before I couldn’t dance, but now I can half dance. It’s a bonus, an absolute bonus.”

Yet the competition is heating up as another celebrity is set to exit on Sunday night, with Punam Krishnan identified by bookmakers as the likely next exit.

Come strictly dance back on Sunday at 7:20 p.m BBC A.
