Roanoke College cancels final game vs. George Mason

SALEM, Va. (WDBJ) – Roanoke College has canceled their final game of the season against George Mason.

The Roanoke College football staff issued the following statement:

”George Mason University has informed Roanoke College that their club soccer team will not be able to play the game against our team on Sunday, November 3. We have worked hard to find another opponent to play instead, but after contacting a dozen different teams we have not been able to find another team that will or will play in the final game of our club season against Roanoke College can play.

We know our fans were looking forward to the final match and we share in their disappointment. However, we see this as an important opportunity to further develop our program now and in the future. We have already outlined the plans in detail for how we will finish this semester strong in the classroom, make giant strides in strength and conditioning, continue to recruit student-athletes who will exemplify Roanoke’s values ​​and culture College and the football world. program and evaluate our strengths and areas for improvement to remain engaged and impactful both on and off the field. We are fully committed to preparing for the 2025 season and our full membership of the ODAC.

The Maroons won all four club matches this season and will participate in the ODAC conference next year.
