Pedestrian dead after I-75 crash in Scott Co.

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WKYT) – A woman is dead after a collision on I-75 in Scott Co.

According to a release from the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, the woman was found around 3:58 a.m. today in the center lane of I-75 near the 139-mile marker. Officials say she was deceased when they arrived on scene.

A preliminary investigation by the Georgetown Scott Co. Collision Investigation Unit shows the woman was in the center lane of I-75 when she was struck by a 2020 Nissan SUV. The driver of the car remains at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

The name of the deceased has not been released pending family notification. Drugs or alcohol do not seem to play a role.

The roadway was closed for approximately two hours.

The collision remains under investigation by the Georgetown Scott Co. Collision Investigation Unit.
