NFL Media responds to the latest post from Raiders’ Mark Davis

As the NFL trade deadline approaches, there is increasing talk surrounding defensive end Maxx Crosby’s future with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Of course it’s all just talk; Raiders owner Mark Davis confirmed this when, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, he sent an email to ESPN over the weekend stating, “We are not trading Maxx Crosby. Before or after the trade deadline!!!”

But of course that doesn’t stop the national media from still talking about it.

Davis’ message was discussed Sunday morning at CBS Sports headquarters. With the quarterback position being a big need for the Raiders right now, CBS Sports’ Pete Prisco gave his thoughts on what the Raiders should do with Crosby.

“Look, this is what I would do if I was a general manager. I don’t care how many Maxx Crosby’s you have, you don’t win if you don’t have a quarterback. You gotta find a quarterback.” So make sure you get the resources that will ensure you get the quarterback you want. And to do that — they’re probably not going to be in the top five — so to do that, you’ve got to go get those draft picks. Whatever you have to do to catch that guy. You keep hearing that they love Shadeur Sanders. Well, if you like Shadeur Sanders, and you’re not in a position to go get him, aren’t you better off with Sanders than you are with Maxx. Crosby? Sure, so that’s why you need to get rid of Crosby.
