Man held for raping a minor girl in Garhwa

A youth from Aurangabad, Bihar, raped a minor girl in a Scorpio jeep near Gulariya Dorha forest under Ranka police station on Saturday.

The minor is also said to be from Bihar and studying in Ranka. The suspect was caught red-handed by his family members while raping the minor and handed over to the police. Following this, Ranka police filed an FIR against the suspect and his driver under the POCSO Act and sent them to court. The suspect is Mo Shahrukh Ansari, son of Kalamuddin Ansari, resident of Kutumba village in Aurangabad district, Bihar, and his driver is Tauqeer Ansari alias Farhan, son of Reyasat Ansari, resident of Hariharganj in Palamu district.

Police have recovered the Scorpion vehicle (JH01-FG 5004) used in the incident.

Praveen Kumar, station house officer, said the minor is studying while living in her maternal grandfather’s house. She already had contact with the young people living in Kutumba. Around six o’clock on Saturday morning, both youths reached Ranka in a black Scorpio and called the minor girl on the main road. After the minor reached there, they took her to Gulriya Dhonda forest on National Highway-343. They parked the Scorpion on the roadside and raped the minor girl.

The maternal grandfather and maternal uncle looked for her and then they found out: When the minor girl was not found at home, her maternal grandfather and maternal uncle started looking for her. When they couldn’t find her, they both went towards Garhwa on bikes. When they reached Gulriya Dhonda, they became suspicious after seeing a Scorpion on the side of NH-343. The minor’s grandfather saw Shahrukh Ansari raping her on the seat of the car and the driver Tauqeer Ansari was sitting on his seat. Subsequently, the minor’s maternal grandfather and maternal uncle got the Scorpio gate opened and both the accused and the minor were taken to the police station. An FIR has been registered in relation to this incident. The police station in-charge said that on the written request of the girl’s maternal grandfather, a case has been registered under the POCSO Act and both the suspects have been sent to jail. The minor has been sent to Garhwa for medical examination.

Youth held with country-made pistols

Garhwa police have arrested a youth from Achala Navadih village near Garhwa police station and recovered two country-made pistols and two live cartridges. ASP campaign Rahul Dev Baraik gave this information at Garhwa police station.

The arrested youth has identified himself as Rahul Kumar Dhar Dubey, son of late Kamlesh Dhar Dubey, resident of Achala Nawadih near Garhwa police station.

ASP said that Superintendent of Police Deepak Kumar Pandey had received information on Friday that a youth was roaming in Achala Navadih village with illegal weapons. Later, the SP formed a police team led by SDPO Neeraj Kumar. When the police team came near Rahul’s house, he was seen wandering around the house. After this, the police ran away and picked up Rahul while he was running. He said he threw the weapon into the rice field.

On his instructions, two 8mm rural pistols and two live bullets were recovered from the paddy field.

Woman, lover jumps into the well

An incident took place at Khardiha village in Ranka police station of Garhwa district which is being discussed across the area. According to the information, Anil Yadav from the village was working outside and returned to the village a few days ago after earning money. When he came to the village, the neighbors told him that his wife Lalita Devi is having an affair with his younger brother Sunil Yadav. They both love each other. The neighbors also taunted Lalita for this. Anil Yadav questioned his wife about this and the dispute between the husband and wife on this issue increased. Lalita Devi jumped into a nearby well in anger. When brother-in-law and lover Sunil Yadav got the information that Bhabhi jumped into the well, he also jumped into the well. By the time the villagers pulled them both out of the well, they had both died.

This incident has spread mourning in the village. Lalita Devi’s three small children also became helpless.

Ranka police are investigating the case. Police also say the case appears to be related to a love affair.
