Restoration of the non-emergency telephone line 101

Telephone lines to our control room have been restored and calls for service are now again being handled by Avon and Somerset Police staff.

We would like to continue to ask people as much as possible to report non-urgent matters online via rather than calling 101 to help us manage demand.

People should continue to call 999 as they normally would – if there is an emergency, if a crime is in progress or if there is a threat to their life.

External and internal telephone lines, with the exception of 101 and 999 calls, remain affected and inoperative. The work to restore them continues.
