Gregg County Fire Marshal’s Office investigating airport fire

GREGG COUNTY, Texas (KLTV) – Authorities are investigating a fire that broke out Saturday in a private hangar at the East Texas Regional Airport.

According to Elderville-Lakeport VFD, the fire was reported around 8 p.m. and crews found smoke coming from a vacant hangar at the back of the airport.

Once they got inside, emergency responders said the interior was consumed by “severe fire conditions.” The flames were under control and crews left the scene around 11 p.m

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Gregg County Fire Marshall’s Office, the VFD said. The Longview Fire Department and the Gregg County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the initial response.
