Bonifay schools cancel outdoor activities amid police investigation into murder

HOLMES COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – Out of an abundance of caution, some schools in Bonifay have canceled outdoor activities planned for Monday, October 27.

The announcement comes after bonifay police released details of a double murder investigationas well as their search for a person of interest in connection with the case.

The Holmes District School Board made the announcement Sunday evening, stating that due to the increased law enforcement presence in Bonifay and out of an abundance of caution, there will be no outdoor activities on Monday for Bonifay schools: Holmes County High School, Bonifay K-8 School and the Graduation Assistance Program.

They stated that Bonifay K-8 School’s kindergarten and first grade field day have been postponed and the new date will be announced at a later date.

School board members asked parents to stay tuned for updates on activities planned for the rest of the week.
