Chucky Creator Says Franchise Will Continue Major Trend After Cancellation

It’s been exactly a month since the Chucky TV series was canceled by SYFY and USA Network, leaving the show ending on a major cliffhanger and leaving fans wondering when the killer doll would return. There is no official news yet about when Chucky Fans will next see the killer doll fight his way through a crowd or cause chaos at Tiffany’s, but series creator Don Mancini (who wrote or co-wrote every film in the franchise and was showrunner for all three seasons of the series). assuring fans that the story will continue.

After previously reiterating that Chucky “always comes back,” Mancini took to Twitter this weekend to tease fans concerned about the major cliffhanger from the TV show would never be resolved. To his credit, Mancini is right Chucky franchise has brought back the same actors to play the same characters continue their stories from the very beginning. Not only has Brad Dourif voiced the titular killer for seven films and three seasons of the show, but Alex Vincent has been playing the role of Andy Barclay since 1988. Child’s play. Even Jennifer Tilly has been playing the role of Tiffany Valentine since 1998 Bride of Chucky. How did the TV series Chucky end?

Knowing that our favorite characters from the Chucky The TV show eventually returning is good for fans of the show because it ended in a way that spelled doom for them. If Chucky As season 3 came to a close, Jake (Zackary Arthur), Devon (Björgvin Arnarson), and Lexy (Alyvia Alyn Lind) were all put into doll bodies with the same voodoo magic as Chucky and Tiffany. To make matters worse, they are held captive in a display case while Chucky and Tiffany run free, reunited and cuddled all night.

It’s really unclear where the Chucky TV series would have aimed for such a dramatic cliffhanger for the story, but given the consequences of the ending, it would make sense for the three characters to stick around like puppets for the movie. at least a while. Granted, budget-wise, it would ultimately make sense if three of your human actors were actually little puppets with their phases superimposed on the bodies so that a return to their human form could happen quickly.

What is the future of the Chucky franchise?

So far, there’s no confirmation on what comes next for Chucky. However, back in the day, before the Chucky TV series were canceled, Don Mancini confirmed that writing the next film in the series. It’s unclear whether the film was written as a continuation of the show, as a side story to the show, or perhaps as something that would have followed a theoretical fourth season of the series. Chucky. Now that the series is over, this film could very well be the next to be released in the franchise, but we may not know for sure for a while.
