Police are monitoring gang activity in Lower Hutt

Police say they are monitoring gang activity in Lower Hutt ahead of a funeral tomorrow morning.

Businesses on Randwick Road in Moera have reported a significant gang presence.

One worker told RNZ the gang had cut off a small street, but police claim no streets were blocked.

They say there will be a visible police presence this evening and tomorrow as the funeral procession moves to Whenua Tapu Cemetery in Porirua.

Police said traffic is likely to be disrupted in Moera tomorrow morning and in Porirua during the afternoon.
