Man dies after being hit by car on Prater Way

SPARKS, Nev. (KOLO) – A man is dead after being involved in a crash in west Sparks.

It happened on Prater Way, near the corner of 18th St, just before 8 p.m.

Sparks police say they arrived to find a man who had been hit by a car, and shortly after, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

The driver of the car remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.

According to police, alcohol and speed did not play a role in the accident.

A skateboard was seen on the road, but police have not said whether the man was on the board when he was hit.

Prater is closed in both directions between 18th and 21st streets.
