Bengaluru: Imprisoned Kannada superstar Darshan hopes to get bail before Diwali as the Karnataka High Court will hear his appeal on Monday.

The case is likely to be heard later today.

Darshan is reportedly suffering from severe back pain and his counsel, renowned criminal lawyer CV Nagesh, who failed to secure bail for the actor in the lower court, is submitting the case with medical records and is likely to push for bail on medical grounds .

Sources stated that if the court rejects the bail, an appeal would be made to send him back to the Bengaluru Central Jail.

Darshan’s wife, son, family and fans are eagerly awaiting his release as he has been in jail for the past four months.

Darshan had initially refused to undergo any treatment for back pain and was taken to hospital and given physiotherapy but got no relief.

The Karnataka High Court had on October 22 postponed the hearing on Darshan’s bail plea to October 28.

The Bench, headed by Justice S. Vishwajith Shetty, will hear the matter for hearing on Monday.

Senior advocate CV Nagesh had appeared for actor Darshan and claimed that he was suffering from severe back pain and was being treated by doctors.

He also stated that Darshan needs medical treatment and accordingly he should be granted bail.

Advocate Nagesh had further submitted that Darshan needs to undergo surgery due to the back pain and bail should be granted earlier for the same.

A court in Bengaluru recently quashed the bail applications of Darshan and his partner Pavithra Gowda who are in jail in connection with the sensational murder case of Renukaswamy, who was a fan of the actor.

Darshan, Pavithra Gowda and 15 others were arrested on June 11 on charges of kidnapping and brutally murdering Renukaswamy from Chitradurga.

Renukaswamy had allegedly sent derogatory and obscene messages to Pavithra Gowda as he was angry with the actor for his relationship with Pavithra Gowda despite being married.

Darshan was shifted to Ballari jail after pictures of the ‘royal treatment’ given to him in Bengaluru Central Jail surfaced.

He is facing three FIRs in this connection. Police filed a 3,991-page complaint in the case on September 4.
