Phillies should take note of these four free agents raking in Citizens Bank Park

The Philadelphia Phillies once again failed to achieve their ultimate goal. Win the World Series.

For the third season in a row, the team has failed to finish as the top team in the MLB, and for the past two seasons the team has even failed to make it to the Fall Classic. Philadelphia, which held a franchise record for most All-Stars in a season in 2024, was eliminated from the National League Division Series by theNew York Mets despite receiving a bye for finishing as one of the top two teams in the National League.

The Phillies will now shift their focus to the offseason as they have plenty of questions to answer this winter. Following the extension of manager Rob Thomson, the prospect of contention may have moved even higher up the priority list, with even less room for failure.

That’s why the Phillies front office can’t miss this winter when it comes to finding the right free agents to fill out the depth of their roster. What better place to start than with players who have had success in a place where half of their games will be played by 2025?

Of the 76 pending unrestricted free agents this offseason, only a handful have found consistent success while at Citizens Bank Park, the Phillies’ home field.

Here are the top players looking for a new team this winter who have performed best in Philadelphia, regardless of position or team need.

Highest OPS – Alex Bregman

Although there weren’t many games played in Philly during Bregman’s career, he made the most of it while he was there. During the five games he played in at the Bank, the long time Houston Astros infielder posted a 1.363 OPS. This included five extra base hits in 19 at-bats and only four strikeouts.

Best batting average – Thairo Estrada

The former San Francisco giants utilityman did well when he stepped into the box at Citizens Banks Park. Over the nine games he played in Philadelphia, the 28-year-old had an excellent batting average of .412. Although most of these were single-base hits, he still posted a .976 OPS over that same period.

Most home runs – Michael Conforto

The former former Met enters this winter as the top free agent with the most home runs in Philadelphia. Conforto has hit 15 home runs in 59 career games at the Phillies’ home park.

After a few years with the San Francisco Giants, the nine-year veteran could be looking to bring his talents back to the East Coast. In his two seasons in the Bay, the 31-year-old topped 15 home runs each year.

The Best of the Rest – Juan Soto

It’s exciting when the largest free player on the market also performs well at your home. That’s the case for the Phillies, as Soto has performed during his time at Citizens Bank Park. In his 38 games, he hit .327/.433/.653 in 178 at-bats. He has 21 extra-base hits, including 13 home runs in that span.

If the Phillies front office is starting to wonder whether it’s worth entering a bidding war with other teams for Soto’s talents, a gentle subtle reminder of how he’s performing for the best home field advantage in baseball should make them reconsider to take.
