Two storage units in Dilworth are said to have been broken into

DILWORTH, MINN. (Valley News Live) – Dilworth Police are investigating after they say they received two reports of a storage unit being broken into.

Police say both burglaries occurred at “Close to Home Self-Storage,” located at 215, 7th St. NE in Dilworth. The first report was made on October 13 and the second on October 25. Officers say locks were cut and removed and items were stolen in both burglaries.

Police also say they are conducting routine building checks at the storage facility and documenting anything unusual so they can review it later in the event of a break-in.

Dilworth Police spoke with the company and the company says the lock they recommend to users to best prevent a break-in is a disc padlock.

Dilworth PD says this is an active investigation as officers await surveillance video from the business.
