First warning weather: Halloween week is heating up

A cool but calm and sunny start to the working week will quickly warm up. Monday night we will remain dry and cool with mostly clear skies and temperatures in the low 40s.

Tuesday starts with some sun. The wind and clouds are picking up ahead of a warm front. This front will bring a period of scattered showers by mid-afternoon. It is this front that will bring our temperatures near record warm territory on both Wednesday and Thursday.

Wednesday will feature mostly sunny skies and warm winds, with an expected high of 76 degrees. The record for Wednesday’s date is 78 degrees set in 1946. Halloween itself also has a chance to set record highs, with a forecast of 78 degrees, and the record stands at 80 degrees for Halloween day.

We are still tracking a strong cold front that will bring rain late this evening, and much cooler air on Friday. At this point, we are cautiously optimistic that the rain will continue long enough for all trick-or-treaters to be safely back inside on Thursday evening. We keep an eye on any trends.

There will be some morning showers on Friday, followed by much cooler breezes during the day. The weekend is looking quite nice at the moment, with quite a bit of sunshine, but a chilly Saturday, followed by slightly milder skies and a few more clouds, but still dry weather to end the weekend on Sunday.
