Chicopee man sentenced to prison for armed robbery and assault

BOSTON, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – A Chicopee man will spend more than a decade behind bars after pleading guilty to armed robbery charges.

According to Acting United States Attorney Joshua S. Levy, 38-year-old Hector Laureano intentionally attacked a confidential informant who was performing official duties in May 2023.

Laureno then used a gun to rob that official of $1,400 belonging to the United States.

He was indicted by a federal grand jury in December 2023 and ultimately pleaded guilty to a slew of assault charges.

Laureno will spend 12 years in prison, followed by five years of probation
