Rotary Club of Aggieland is hosting a fundraiser to help survivors of human trafficking

BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – It’s been 13 years since the Texas Aggies and Texas Longhorns played each other in football, and the Rotary Club of Aggieland wants to cook for you.

The Rotary Club of Aggieland is cooking up 40 briskets as part of a fundraiser called “Briskets 2 Save the world.”

The cooking and collection will take place on Saturday, November 30 at the dental practice of Dr. Jennifer A. Hathaway, DDS, located at 1719 Broadmoor Drive in Bryan.

The club uses USDA Prime Briskets, cooked Central Texas style; low and slow on a 1000 gallon reverse flow offset smoker using locally sourced post oak.

Rickard Blomberg, affectionately known as ‘The Smoking Swede’, will take care of the pit and lead a team of pit masters.

The Aggie BBQ Club and several friends and family from local Rotary Clubs will be cooking all night long so you can rest up for the Lone star showdown.

Each brisket comes in an insulated bag to keep your brisket warm, a 12-inch carving knife, a disposable cutting board, and instructions for cutting a brisket.

Rotary Club of Aggieland partners with Another day to help support survivors of human trafficking. The Different Day Foundation provides survivors of human trafficking and prostitution with the tools and skills needed to be self-sufficient.

The goal of the Rotary Club of Aggieland is to raise $10,000 through pre-brisket sales to fulfill Different Day’s mission to provide two years of free housing, health care, trauma therapy and gainful employment.

The prime briskets weigh 10-12 pounds and cost $350. You can Order briskets here while supplies last.
