What’s Up FYI: Fort Smith Little Theater presents ‘The Outsider’ | The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

In The Theater

“The Outsider” — The Fort Smith Little Theater production follows gubernatorial candidate Ned Newley, who is terrified of public speaking. His poll numbers are terrible and he seems destined to fail. But wait, his political advisor has the perfect plan. Opening night is November 14; Evenings: November 15-16 and November 20-23; Sunday Matinee on November 17. For Season Flex Pass customers, seat selection begins on November 2 at 7:00 AM. Tickets go on sale to the general public starting November 7 at 7 a.m. The opening night costs $20. Fort City Slam Open Mic — These monthly events present a microphone to poets/writers who have something to share. Friday 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the Bakery District Cooler Room, 63 S. 6 St., Fort Smith.

Spooky Storytime — Get ready for Halloween with a spooky story for kids at the Dallas Street Branch of the Fort Smith Public Library. There will be stories, crafts, snacks and other Halloween-themed activities. 11:00 AM – 11:45 AM Wednesday at 8100 Dallas St., Fort Smith.

Arkansas River Holiday Market – 130 stalls offering arts and crafts, boutiques, flowers, home decor, children’s items, baked goods and food trucks. Take the kids to Santa. Walk & Talk art

“Quiet Moments” — Tammy Harrington’s artwork is influenced by the Chinese folk art of paper cutting and blends her interpretations of traditional Chinese designs to personalized figurative compositions. Free. Museum hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Fort Smith Regional Art Museum, 1601 Rogers Ave.

Trunk-or-Treat — Van Buren Health and Rehabilitation will serve hot doses and hand out candy. Put on your best costume and enjoy the festivities. Wednesday 6 p.m. at 1404 N. 28 St., Van Buren.

Halloween Drive-Thru Trick-or-Treat — The Arkansas Ghost Hunters will host a drive-thru trick-or-treating event in the parking lot at Webster and 6th streets downtown. Thursday 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM in Historic Downtown Van Buren.

Thriller Night Fundraiser — Save those costumes after Halloween and bring the kids to this annual fall fundraiser. The costume contest has a grand prize of $500. The event also includes a dinner and live auction to benefit local youth. 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM Saturday at 410 E. Main St., Alma.

Crafts for Adults — Join the Fort Smith Public Library’s Main Branch for a creative program in which participants learn how to transform old book pages into beautiful fall pine cones. Rock-or-Treat ’24 — Car show and trunk-or-treating will kick off the event at TempleLive. There will also be a costume competition with prizes for the scariest, funniest and best duo. The evening ends with live music from Green Gar, The Dryline and The Idioms at The Sphinx Club. 5:30 PM Thursday at 200 N. 11 St., Fort Smith.
