Indonesian helper found dead in Hong Kong waterfall had affair with arrested man: source

A foreign domestic helper found dead in a waterfall in Hong Kong had an affair with a married man arrested in connection with the case, and allegedly jumped to her death after he asked to break up with her, according to investigations revealed to the Post.
The unveiling on Wednesday followed the arrest of a married couple the day before in connection with the suspected murder of the 25-year-old Indonesian aid worker. The woman’s body was discovered at Waterfall Bay Park near Wah Fu Estate on Monday.

The Post understands that preliminary investigations have revealed that the man, a British citizen who holds a Hong Kong identity card and runs a cafe in Central, had an extramarital affair with the helper.

“On Sunday evening they took a taxi to the park, where the man asked to break up with him. But the woman got emotionally irritated and suddenly jumped off the waterfall,” said a source.

“The man went to the bottom of the waterfall and found her floating face down in the water. He thought she was dead and fled without calling the police.”

The body was discovered by a passerby around 7:30 am on Monday morning. The domestic worker was declared dead at 8.18am.
