Amber Alert issued for missing 9-year-old Pembroke

PEMBROKE, N.C. – Pembroke Police are looking for 9-year-old Mekiya Werrell Strickland. She is described as a black woman, 4 feet tall, 160 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Authorities believe the victim is with Claude Leslie Werrell, who is described as a black male, 6 feet tall, 50 years old, weighing 280 pounds. He is believed to be driving a blue 2011 Chevy Traverse with NC license plate number LBL 1909.
