Crash closes part of I-81 in Franklin County

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) – A stretch of I-81 is closed in Franklin County following an early morning multi-vehicle crash near the Pennsylvania, Maryland border.

According to PennDOT, the crash occurred at 2:34 a.m. Wednesday on northbound I-81 between Exit 1 to Mason Dixon Road and Exit 3 to Molly Pitcher Highway. All lanes are closed.

Delays continue to increase, but PennDOT estimates the roadway will reopen shortly before 7 a.m

There have been no injuries at this time.

Drivers are encouraged to check road conditions and updates online to avoid delays during their morning commute.
