At least eight people were killed and eight others hospitalized with serious injuries after they were hacked by unknown assailants in western Uganda’s Kagadi district on Tuesday evening, police and the Uganda People’s Defense Forces (UPDF) said on Wednesday.

“We are investigating the incident and the motive behind the attack remains unknown. We appeal to the public to come forward with any information regarding this incident. Your cooperation is crucial to bring the perpetrators to justice,” SP Hakiza added.
