Riverview Gardens High School student robbed while waiting at bus stop

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – A Riverview Gardens High School student was robbed Wednesday morning after an armed assailant approached students as they waited at a bus stop.

According to the Riverview Gardens School District (RGSD), the incident occurred at the corner of Edgefield and Hudson Drives as high school students waited for the bus to arrive.

Officials say an armed assailant approached the students and demanded that one of the students hand over their belongings. The student complied before the suspect made off with the items, RGSD said. No students were injured in the incident.

Additional patrols have been requested from the St. Louis County Police Department during arrival and departure times following the robbery. The district will also increase patrols in the area to ensure students and staff are safe.

The St. Louis County Police Department has launched an investigation into the incident. If anyone has any information about the incident, they are urged to call 911 or contact the St. Louis County Police Department-North Precinct at (314) 615-4297.
