Man, 18, accused of sexually assaulting Clearfield County teen outdoors

CLEARFIELD COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Authorities in Clearfield County say a local man is behind bars, accused of sexually assaulting a teenager outside a Clearfield Borough home earlier this week.

Police say 18-year-old Corbin Derbeque, of Lawrence Township, allegedly attacked the 17-year-old victim after meeting her at a home on West 6th Avenue.

According to the affidavit, police say the victim explained that she and Derbeque had allegedly been communicating for an undisclosed amount of time.

Police say that on the day of the alleged assault, Derbeque allegedly threatened to harm himself, according to the victim, and allegedly asked to meet her for “a kiss and a hug.”

Authorities say the victim consented to the encounter and stated that the first meeting with Derbeque was consensual.

Police say Derbeque allegedly continued to “kiss and touch” the victim before allegedly removing her clothing and beginning to perform sex acts on her.

Investigators say he then sexually assaulted her after “pulling her to the ground” outside the home.

Upon further investigation, police say text messages corroborated the victim’s claim that she and Derbeque had been communicating for some time prior to the alleged attack.

Police say the victim also admitted that she and Derbeque had previously engaged in sexual activity, but stated that all previous encounters were consensual.

After the alleged attack, police say the victim sent numerous messages to Derbeque asking why he allegedly attacked her.

Investigators noted that the victim reportedly told several other juveniles about the alleged assault before reporting it to police.

Police say that during the interview with Derbeque, he claimed that the victim’s friend asked him to meet her.

Authorities say he also allegedly mentioned their previous sexual encounters and stated they were consensual.

During the course of the interview, police noticed that Derbeque was “acting nervous” and reportedly changed his story several times.

Police say he later admitted that the victim repeatedly told him to stop during the alleged assault, but he continued to have sex with her.

According to online court recordsDerbeque is facing several charges, including sexual abuse, aggravated indecent assault without consent and corruption of minors.

He is being held in Clearfield County Prison on $100,000 bail.
