OneOhio Recovery Foundation announces 15 new grants totaling .7 million

The OneOhio Recovery Foundation announced Wednesday that it has awarded nearly $2.7 million in grants to 15 organizations across the state to help combat substance abuse by supporting prevention, treatment and recovery efforts across Ohio.

“It is inspiring to see the diverse initiatives working every day to combat Ohio’s addiction epidemic,” said Alisha Nelson, executive director of the OneOhio Recovery Foundation. “These grants help support these efforts and we are grateful to work with these organizations to advance their missions. With continued cooperation and dedication, and careful management of our resources, we can continue to take back our state and chart a better future.”

NOTE: Additional grant awards will be announced in the future. The subsidies announced on Wednesday should not be considered an exhaustive list.

These 15 new grants are part of the more than $51 million allocated for the 2024 regional grant cycle and were selected from 1,442 funding requests totaling $581 million from organizations statewide. Grantees were chosen in a collaborative process that included input from OneOhio regions, the Expert Panel, the Grant Oversight Committee and the Board of Directors.

In addition, the OneOhio Recovery Foundation board of directors has given preliminary approval for 185 grants. This approval authorizes Foundation staff to negotiate grant agreements with recipient organizations, and awards will be announced publicly once grantee organizations complete the grant verification process. Several grant recommendations are still pending.

Grant Award Wednesdays will continue, if necessary, until the end of 2024 or until all grant awards are announced. A complete list of recipients can be found at OneOhioFoundation.com/GrantAwards.

The 2024 regional subsidy cycle is just the first of a number of subsidy opportunities to come. Organizations and leaders wishing to submit future applications can sign up on the Foundation’s website here to receive updates.
