An Ohio man has been ordered held on $100,000 bail after being accused of rape by Corry State Police on Tuesday.

Robert Alan Pepus, 26, of Garrettsville, Ohio, is charged with statutory sexual assault 11 years or older, a class 1 felony, and corruption of minors, suspect 18 years or older, a class 3 felony. Police allege Pepus had sex with a 14-year-old. He was unable to post $100,000 bail Monday and was taken to the Warren County Jail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 6 at 1 p.m.

State Troopers said in the department’s statement of probable cause that troopers were conducting a security check of Corry Area Intermediate School in Columbus Township, Warren County, and observed a white car parked in the ballpark parking lot. Troopers observed a person in the backseat and when troopers approached the vehicle, they reportedly saw Pepus get out of the car without his pants on.

“I asked Pepus what he was doing and told him he was on the school grounds,” the statement says. “Pepus said they had sex. I allowed Pepus to pick up his pants.”

Pepus allegedly told police he thought the girl was 17 years old.

“I then went to talk to the woman in the vehicle as she put on her clothes,” the affidavit further states. “I identified the woman as IM and discovered she was 14 years old.”
