BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – Happy Halloween!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN: You can expect a mild morning, with mostly cloudy skies and temperatures in the 60s. Many will remain dry through the afternoon, with high temperatures returning to the upper 70s and low 80s.

Rain and a few isolated storms will return tonight as a cold front digs further to the southeast.

Rain is expected in West Alabama as early as 5 p.m. Expect the possibility of rain while trick-or-treating in areas west of Interstate 65. East Alabama will remain mostly dry.

THE NEXT BIG THING There will be another front at the end of next week and we will monitor developments in the tropics.

Expect a better supply of sunshine this weekend, with highs in the 80s. The dry weather will continue through the middle of next week, with a front bringing another chance of showers next Wednesday.

Later next week, temperatures will drop behind the front, with drier air and lows in the 40s.
