Blinn announces the purchase of 100 hectares of land for a new campus

(KBTX) – The Blinn College District has purchased 100 acres of land for the college’s sixth campus, according to a news release Thursday.

The 100-acre site is located at 29638 FM 2920 in Waller.

The release states that the location will be home to an expanded residential campus, offering academic and workforce training programs. As the next step in the development process, a programming and facilities plan will be developed.

“Today’s announcement marks a historic moment for the Blinn College District and for the Waller-Harris County community,” said Dr. Mary Hensley, chancellor of the Blinn College District. “We are excited about the opportunities this new location will provide, offering programs that will inspire, empower and equip our students for success. Our future looks brighter than ever and we are eager to embark on this next phase of growth with the support of our students, teachers and local partners.”

The new campus joins Blinn’s locations in Brenham, Bryan, RELLIS, Schulenberg and Sealy.

Blinn currently offers evening classes at Waller ISD facilities, which will continue to be available as the new campus site is developed.
