Police are hunting the killers of banker Abia and two others

The Abia State Commissioner of Police, CP Danladi Isa, on Thursday confirmed the death of a New Generation Bank employee, identified as Mr. Victor Udensi, and two others in Umuahia, assuring that the perpetrators would soon be brought to justice are brought.

The CP who made this public while parading some suspects at the Police Headquarters in Umuahia, explained that Udensi had stopped at the Isi Court area of ​​Olokoro in Umuahia South on Wednesday when three armed men operating in Keke caught him at around 8:00 p.m. hours and tried to put it in the trunk of his car.

However, he said Udensi resisted and as he ran to escape, the attackers fired shots at his back, leaving him in a pool of blood.

The attackers tried unsuccessfully to start his car and drive away and confronted another unsuspecting driver with a Toyota Camry.

“While they tried to take his car key by force, the driver resisted the armed men. However, they did not take this lightly as they shot him, killing him instantly,” he revealed.

Our correspondent gathered that the gunmen, while fleeing to Ubakala, in an attempt to escape, encountered a Keke (three-wheeler) which they believed was obstructing their escape and shot dead the driver.

An eyewitness to PUNCH Metro that passersby rushed the banker to the hospital, but he could not make it, as he was declared dead shortly after beginning treatment.

The CP said police had launched a manhunt for the attackers.
