Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State have stressed the need for unity and one voice ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The call was made at a meeting organized by the Diadem, a technocrat group, and the PDP in Ifako/Ijaiye Local Government Area (LGA), on Thursday in Lagos to commemorate the 64th anniversary of Nigeria’s independence.

Dr. Dayo Kayode, chairman and aviation expert, stressed the need for members to put aside personal interests, stressing that differences in politics were normal but party interests must come first.

He also announced plans to register 100,000 organic members in various electoral wards to boost the party’s chances.

Dr. Bolaji Akinyemi, the keynote speaker, emphasized the need to understand how to build the nation, citing corruption, poor leadership and electoral corruption as key issues.

He advocated for more intelligent voters and a return to the 1963 Republican Constitution.

PDP chairmen, Prince Muftau Oyelekan and Alhaji Isiaka Shodiya, urged Nigerians to give the party a chance in 2027, highlighting the footprints of the PDP in Oyo, Ondo, Osun, Kwara and other states.

Shodiya promised to repeat the membership project in his council area.
