Convoy of three vehicles robbed in N4 spike incident

According to Arthur Hill of Dagpatrollie, his response team arrived on the scene at approximately 1:15 am on Wednesday on the N4, 51 km from Middelburg near Delmas.

Upon their arrival, they encountered three vehicles, all of whose occupants had been robbed at gunpoint.

The three vehicles were traveling in convoy when the first vehicle crashed into spikes, causing it to stop.
The other two vehicles then stopped to assist, when a group of suspects, all armed, ambushed them and robbed them of their valuables.

“The woman driving the front car was traumatized and could not say how many suspects were involved. They threatened to shoot and attack the victims and fled with mobile phones and laptops, among other things.”

According to Hill, the ordeal was over and the robbers had fled when they arrived.

“We helped the victims and sent the Delmas SAPS, who took over from there.”

Hill says another white VW Polo is believed to be involved.
