Troopers discovered that the crash claimed the life of 70-year-old John Waldron of Sibley.

Officials say the preliminary investigation revealed that a 2013 Ford pickup driven by Waldron was traveling north on Dorcheat Road. For reasons still under investigation, Waldron’s vehicle left the roadway and collided with a tree.

Waldron, who was unrestrained at the time of the crash, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Although there is no evidence of contamination, routine toxicology samples have been collected and will be submitted for analysis.

This crash is still under investigation.
