LOS ANGELES (KABC) — Two Los Angeles police officers were injured Friday evening after gunfire broke out in the South LA area, officials say.

The shooting was reported near the intersection of 92nd Street and Central Avenue around 9 p.m

Further details about the shooting were not immediately available, but officials said the officers may have suffered abrasions or injuries from a ricocheting bullet.

Police initially responded to a report of an armed robbery. When they arrived, shots were fired, police said.

One suspect remains outstanding.
