Palm Bay Mayor Rob Medina highlights annual fall festival and upcoming Veterans Day Parade in mayor’s message

Veterans Day Parade scheduled for Nov. 9 at 10 a.m

It’s a great day, Palm Bay! Last month we celebrated the 27th annual Puerto Rican Day Parade & Festival presented by UTB United Third Bridge, Inc. at Fred Poppe Regional Park. Even though it was raining, we partied through it! I was both honored and surprised when Tito Puente Jr. drew me on stage to embrace my musical talents! It really was a great event and I can’t wait for next year!

BREVARD COUNTY • PALM BAY, FLORIDA – It’s a great day, Palm Bay!

Last month we celebrated the 27th annual Puerto Rican Day Parade & Festival, presented by UTB United Third Bridge, Inc., at Fred Poppe Regional Park. Even though it was raining, we partied through it! I was both honored and surprised when Tito Puente Jr. drew me on stage to embrace my musical talents! It was a great event and I can’t wait for next year!

We also celebrated our annual Fall Festival at Fred Poppe Regional Park and if you didn’t have a chance to attend, be sure to come next year! This year’s event was even bigger than last year, with the most vendors and attendees we’ve ever had!

This past year the city hosted nine Fun Friday events, and October was one for the books! Watch out next year for more concerts and events.

Every November 11, we honor a group that holds a special place in my heart: America’s veterans. These courageous men and women showed remarkable selflessness and courage when they chose to serve in the United States Armed Forces. We extend our deepest gratitude to every hero who has worn the uniform and left the comfort of home to defend our freedoms.

Thank you for your sacrifices, for the challenges you have endured, and for the continued commitment you have shown. Your service shaped our nation, secured our freedoms and upheld the values we cherish. To all veterans, we salute you. We are grateful for the battles you fought, the victories you won, and the boundless love you showed for our country. May your courage continue to inspire us, and may we strive to honor your service every day. Happy Veterans Day!

I also want to recognize the 249th anniversary of the United States Marine Corps.

Happy Birthday and Semper Fi to my fellow Marines! Our core values – honor, courage and dedication – remain at the core of who we are and guide us in service as well as in battle. May God bless each of you and continue to bless our great nation, the United States of America. OOH RAH!
