Kansas City’s Vintage Market Days start Friday

INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (KCTV) – If you’re ready to get into the Christmas spirit, Vintage Market Days of Kansas City is back in Independence this weekend.

“We have vendors selling vintage, antiques, original art, boutique clothing, and we have yummy treats,” says owner and operator Rosemary Salerno. ” T-shirts, all kinds of fun things. We really have something for everyone. All to get you in the holiday spirit. Our theme this year is ‘Dear Santa Claus’.

The 3-day pop-up event takes place twice a year; this weekend is their holiday market. If you’re not quite ready to start shopping for Christmas items, don’t worry, they have plenty more items. This year it moved to a new location: the Independence Center.

“We kind of took over the west wing of the mall,” Salerno said. “We have salespeople upstairs and downstairs. So when you come through our gateway you experience this new little world in here, which is great, you don’t have to worry about the weather.”

More than 100 local, regional and national suppliers are participating. On Vintage Market Days, thousands come every year to support small businesses.

“Customers love that aspect and love the opportunity to meet the makers,” Salerno said. “You can meet the person who found that amazing antique and hear the story of how they found it. You’ll meet the person who made that really cool shirt and hear their process. Being able to understand the history of the item you are purchasing or understanding the maker who made those really cool earrings or necklace. You can meet them here when you come to our market.”

Vintage Market Days take place on Saturday from 10am to 5pm and on Sunday from 10am to 3pm. Tickets cost $15 and are valid for the entire weekend.
