Early voting in Ontario County continues to see high turnout ahead of the general

As Election Day approaches, Ontario County continues to see high engagement in early voting and mail-in ballot returns, according to data from the Ontario County Board of Elections.

As of Nov. 1 at 8 p.m., a total of 14,113 residents had cast ballots at the county’s three early voting locations in Canandaigua, Geneva and Victor. Daily turnout ranged from 1,778 to 2,502 voters, with the highest turnout on October 26, the first day of early voting.

Voting by mail has also attracted strong participation, with 4,376 ballots returned out of 5,863 issued to voters. Of those, 1,851 were filed by Democratic and Working Families party members, 1,411 by Republican and Conservative members, and 1,114 by unaffiliated or minor party voters. In addition, 167 ballots were returned from military and federal overseas voters.

Ontario County has 78,655 active registered voters and 7,362 inactive voters eligible to participate. Voters who are unable to participate in early voting still have the option to vote on Election Day at one of 44 polling places in the province’s 92 precincts.

All data remains unofficial and subject to final updates from the Board of Elections.
