Former Cowboys first-round pick, stunned by Jerry Jones, enters the fray

Jerry Jones did what Jerry Jones does on Friday and made some wild comments that turned heads. The Dallas Cowboys owned at 105.3 The Fan and while he didn’t threaten to fire someonehe said something that left Marcus Spears almost speechless.

Spears was previously a first-round pick for the Cowboys and is now an analyst for ESPN. While on NFL Live, he heard a clip from the radio segment with Jones, where the owner said he “didn’t anticipate the challenges” his team has had this year.

Spears, who first heard this clip while live on ESPN, was shocked and unable to speak for a few seconds. Then he jumped out and said, “Yeah, I know damn well we didn’t just hear Jerry Jones say that. When was that noise? Was that today?”

Spears was left shocked, leading Ryan Clark to ask him if he had ever “heard something so stupid that it makes you go blind?” Spears finally regained his composure and went against Jones, saying there was no way he didn’t know this was coming.

He even said that “everyone in the world told Jerry Jones” that his team wasn’t good, before adding, “You don’t get good football teams by getting rid of good football players.” Spears called that “fundamental” to roster building, which is 100 percent true.

Jones has been challenging all year in terms of his approach to building this roster. While Spears is correct in his assessment, it’s also safe to assume that Jones won’t be changing his approach anytime soon.
