Man seriously injured after fall from 11th Street parking garage, Knoxville police investigate

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Knoxville Police said an investigation is underway after a man fell from the parking garage on 11th Street on Saturday.

According to KPD, officers responded to the parking garage lot on Cumberland Avenue on Saturday around 7:15 p.m., where a 21-year-old man had been seriously injured after falling from an upper level of the parking garage.

The victim was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, where he remains hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, KPD said.

KPD said it is unknown at this time whether the victim jumped intentionally or fell accidentally, but based on witness statements and preliminary investigation findings, police believe he was intoxicated at the time of the incident.

The investigation into the incident remains active and ongoing.
