Man seriously injured in crash in north St. Louis County – Duluth News Tribune

PORTAGE TOWNSHIP, Minn. – A 55-year-old man was hospitalized after a rollover accident Sunday.

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office responded at 11:40 a.m. to a report of a single-vehicle rollover on the 5900 block of Crane Lake Road, according to a news release. A passerby had found the car in a ditch, with the man trapped in it.

Officers and medical personnel removed the man from the vehicle and he was airlifted to a local hospital. Authorities described his injuries as serious but not life-threatening and said there were no witnesses to the crash.

“The name of the driver is being withheld pending notification of the family,” the statement said.

Buyck first responders and firefighters, U.S. Border Patrol agents, Orr ambulance and firefighters, and Life Link medical flights assisted at the scene.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under the byline “staff.” Often the byline “staff” is used when rewriting basic news briefs that come from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and require little or no reporting. Sometimes this byline is used when a news story contains multiple authors or when the story is formed by merging previously reported news from different sources. If external sources are used, this will be noted in the story.
