Election Day 2024which falls on Tuesday, November 5 this year, is a national holiday.

Two of these holidays fall in November, in addition to Election Day. Veterans Day is on November 11, while Thanksgiving Day is on Thursday, November 28.

Yes, mail will be delivered on Election Day.

Yes, post offices will be open on Election Day 2024 as it is not a federal holiday.

Most public schools will be closed on New Jersey’s state holiday. However, the decision on whether to close schools rests entirely with local districts and the leadership of private and parochial schools on Election Day.

An increasing number of school districts in New Jersey have decided to close schools on Election Day so that school buildings can be used as polling places without the security concerns of students being present. Other districts have decided to move polling places to non-school locations due to the same concerns.

It is best for parents and guardians to check their child’s school calendar to see if they are closed.

Stock markets remain open on election day. Nasdaq trade and bond markets will also be open.

All Commission on Motor Vehicles offices will be closed. In addition, all state offices and courts in New Jersey are closed.

NJ Transit, PATH And SEPTA will operate according to normal timetable.

For NJ Transit, riders must use NJ Transit’s online trip planner double check arrival and departure times.

Polling stations are allocated based on your address. The New Jersey Department of State offers a polling place lookup tool for New Jersey addresses.

Registered voters should have received a sample ballot in the mail indicating the polling place.

There will be results and full coverage for all major races after the polls close NJ.com.

The next federal holiday is Veterans Day on Monday, November 11. Two other remaining federal holidays are Thanksgiving Day on November 28 and Christmas Day on December 25.
