Man driving a wrecked car arrested and charged with OVI: North Ridgeville police blotter

NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio

OVI: Center Ridge Road

On October 19, a driver was arrested for towing equipment. The vehicle had heavy damage to the front and the airbag was deployed. The driver was arrested and taken to the Lorain County Jail. He is charged with operating while intoxicated, operating an unsafe vehicle and improperly handling a firearm in a motor vehicle while under the influence.

Crash: Lorain Road

On October 17, officers were called to a gas station for an accident. The driver at fault had already left before arrival. She was identified and arrested.

Theft: No address

The police received a complaint on October 11 about numerous open mailboxes. Surveillance images showed two young people opening the mailboxes and taking out items. They were identified and referred to the juvenile court.

Theft: Sugar Ridge Road

It was reported stolen from Sugar Ridge Storage on October 19th.

Burglary: Lorain Road

On October 19, police were sent to Sheetz to track down unwanted people. They were removed from the property, but one of the men returned about 30 minutes later and was arrested and charged with criminal trespass.

Driving under the influence: Ottenweg

Police arrested a driver on October 20 for a traffic violation. The man turned out to be under the influence and was arrested. He was charged with driving under the influence, opening a container and a traffic violation.

Property damage: Lorain Road

On October 20, Fairview Park chased a vehicle coming through town. Stop sticks were deployed and were damaged when the suspect vehicle drove over them.

Theft: Center Ridge Road

Police were dispatched to a theft at Giant Eagle on October 21. Two suspects were located and arrested. They are charged with theft, criminal trespass, aiding and abetting and possession of cocaine.

OVI: Avon Belden Road

A caller reported on October 21 that a driver was acting recklessly. The man was arrested and charged with operating under the influence and a traffic violation.
