Eagles star suffered knee injury during second quarter vs. Jaguars| Will he return?

PHILADELPHIA— During the second quarter Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown slowly got up from the ground and spoke to medical trainers. After halftime, the Eagles ruled Brown questionable to return with a knee injury.

Brown had two receptions for 36 yards against the Jaguars’ secondary in the first half. In Week 6, Brown returned to action after missing three weeks with a hamstring injury. In three games without Brown, the Eagles’ offense struggled to score points.

The Eagles scored 22 points through the first three quarters and could continue to score more touchdowns against Jacksonville’s porous defense. But if Brown’s knee injury sidelines him for an extended period of time, Philadelphia’s passing offense could decline in the coming weeks.

Eagles wide receivers DeVonta SmithJahan Dotson and Johnny Wilson will have to make do without Brown. Through three quarters, Smith has caught one pass for nine yards, and Dotson has pulled down a 36-yard reception.

In August, the Eagles traded a third-round pick and two seventh-rounders to the Washington Commanders for Dotson. Dotson, who has been trying to learn the offense in recent months, had six receptions for 35 yards in the first eight weeks.

Dotson may have to become the second wide receiver opposite Smith.

Wilson, whom the Eagles drafted in the sixth round this year, caught his first career touchdown in the first half, but he pushed off his route and was called for pass interference.
