Eagles LBs helped call game in win over Jags | How the ‘wave’ they are on has helped their defense

PHILADELPHIA – Eagles linebacker Nakobe Dean read the wheel route that Jacksonville Jaguars running back D’Ernest Johnson ran late in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game. The Jaguars drove through the field looking to make a major comeback after trailing as much as 22-0. Dean had been defeated on the same route by Kenneth Gainwell in a public workout this summer, and again during his college days at the University of Georgia. This time, however, he was in position to make the play, intercept the pass and help the Eagles one 28-23 victory improve to 6-2.

“It felt good to have everyone come by and congratulate me,” Dean said. “It was good to call the game.”
